You’ve Got Mail (1998)
Oh, this is the glitch art print I did for the We’ve Got Mail event earlier this year. Somehow I never posted it?
After reading her screenplay (co-written with her sister Delia) for You’ve Got Mail, I told her I was in. “Good,” she said, “but we have to start shooting in the next five minutes, before AOL disappears and something else takes the place of e-mail. — Tom Hanks: Remembering Writer and Director Nora Ephron
Writing in New York that same year, Ephron described her first year in the city, cycling through apartments and roommates and jobs. She had wanted to return to New York since she’d left as a 5-year-old. “I thought it was going to be the most exciting, magical, fraught-with-possibility place that you could ever live in; a place where if you really wanted something, you might be able to get it; a place where I’d be surrounded by people I was dying to be with. And I turned out to be right.” She wasn’t just good at endings, she was good at it all. — Nora Ephron, 1941-2012 (via interweber)
Nora Ephron: My First New York -
Thank you, Nora, for all that you brought to New York, and brought out in it, too.
We’ve Got Mail was amazing! Thanks to everyone who worked on the event, and even more thanks to everyone who packed Housing Works to capacity and helped raise thousands of dollars towards the amazing work they do!
What an amazing event. Thank you for coming. Stay tuned for photos and more!
I am very very very excited about We’ve Got Mail tonight and very very very surprised that it took me this long to make YGM fan art.
Meredith’s ready for tonight. Are you?
